The 814ce is renowned for its classic rosewood/spruce tonewood combination, Taylor’s acclaimed Grand Auditorium body style and its distinctive playability. An apt tool for different music genres, its richness of sound, musical versatility and signature playability have been renowned by players. Now, Taylor's Builder's Edition collection brings the 814ce to an even higher level of performance, adding premium craftsmanship details.

This Builder's Edition features a four-piece solid Adirondack spruce soundboard, upgraded from solid Sitka spruce. To maintain the high quality of soundboard and preserve the preferred heirloom grade, this requires meticulous joinery with smaller sizes of timber, reflecting the evolving future of the world's forests. Resulting craftsmanship is of the utmost quality, displaying a consistent and beautiful grain structure.

Additional comfort-enhancing woodworking details that distinguish this edition from its standard-model counterpart include an elegantly sculpted beveled cutaway for effortless high-register access, along with a beveled mahogany armrest that provides a smooth surface for the player’s strumming arm. Other refinements include nuanced alterations in the taper of the body, a modified V-Class voicing, and a subtle alteration to the gloss finish.

This is the only Builder’s Edition model to feature a gloss finish to highlight the beautiful contouring of the body. The back and sides boast a Kona edgeburst. The result is unparalleled playing comfort, balance, and resonance that will draw out the deeply nuanced subtleties of your playing.

Take your playing to new heights with the Builder’s Edition 814ce guitar. Enjoy precision tuning and a rich, full sound with premium Gotoh 510 tuners and an ES2 pickup system. Feel the luxurious feel of its contoured Curve Wing bridge and admire its unique alternating maple and black top purfling with rosewood edge trim. Includes deluxe brown hardshell case.
