The WY1TS is an impressive guitar, flaunting a classic sunburst coating with abalone purfling outlining the body. Although you may not want to take it off the wall, you'll be glad you did - the WY1TS sounds marvelous in both live and studio settings, thanks to its stellar construction from Yairi. You can confidently perform with this indestructible instrument.

Amazing OM

I've known about Kazuo Yairi's guitars for years and I have had a couple of friends that owned and played them. I played a few and have never heard of a bad one. I could never afford one when I was younger. This is my first one and it was handmade in Kani, Japan. The WY1TS is a masterpiece! It is my dream guitar of my lifetime.

I have owned a couple of guitars that were more expensive USA made Martins and Taylors. They are excellent and I love them. I still own and play them but never called them masterpieces. I could not afford a 45 or 900 series unless I sold everything else.

This Yairi model is perfect in fit, finish, setup, playability, looks, balance, and great tone. It has a cedar top with rosewood back and sides. Alvarez calls this model and the dreadnought version their stage models. It comes with the LR Baggs Stage Pro Element pickup system and sounds just as good, plugged in. Tarpley Music has these Yairi guitars (this model and Honduran mahogany models) in stock now. If you have any desire to try it or buy one, I highly recommend it.

My only regret is that I didn't buy one of these sooner. I purchased this one from the San Angelo, TX location over a year ago. The wood has opened up and broken in more from age and play. It just keeps sounding better and better. Thanks again to the great sales staff at San Angelo location (Matt, Austin, Jo, Robert, Clint, and Wes).
