Return Policy

New Items:

In-Store - Returnable within 14 days of purchase.

Online - Returnable within 14 days of the tracked date of delivery.

New, untouched, unopened items may be returned within 14 days of the date of delivery for a full refund, less outbound shipping costs. Buyer assumes responsibility for all return shipping costs, unless return is a result of incorrect shipment or defective item. Tarpley Music reserves the right to refuse any return if item is not in new, untouched, or unopened condition.

Used & Vintage Items:

In-Store - Returnable within 3 days of purchase.

Online - Returnable within 3 days of the tracked date of delivery.

All Used & Vintage Returns may be subject to a 5% restocking fee, as well as original outbound shipping costs. Buyer assumes responsibility for all return shipping costs unless return is a result of incorrect shipment.

General Terms:

In-Store - Items must be returned in original condition with all original packaging, manuals, accessories, and no signs of use. Tarpley Music reserves the right to refuse any return if item is not in new, untouched, or unopened condition. All refunds are subject to manager approval.

Re-Stocking Fee:

In-Store & Online - New items without the original packaging will require a 10% restocking fee. All Used & Vintage returns are subject to a 5% restocking fee.

Refunds:

Cash & Credit/Debit - Buyer receives a full refund in their original payment method* less any restocking charges. Credit and Debit refunds will only be allowed on the exact card that was used in the original transaction.

Checks - Purchases made by check cannot be refunded for 13 days following the purchase to insure your check has cleared the bank.**

Online - Buyer receives a full refund in their original payment method☨ less outbound shipping costs and less any restocking charges.

Returns with Promotional Product:

In-Store & Online - Returns made that had promotional product given away with them (ex: patch cables with a pedal) require that the promotional product also be returned. If the promotional product is not returned, then the full retail value of the promotional item will be deducted from the returned total. Promotional product without original packaging will require a 10% restocking fee based on TMC Price.

Special Orders:

In-Store & Online - Special Order items are ordered for your specific requirements, and therefore cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged. This includes "Out-of-Stock" items, that you have made a commitment to purchase and have been placed on Special Order with a vendor partner.

Layaway:

In-Store & Online - Items purchased on Layaway cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged.

Non-Returnable Items:

In-Store & Online - Special Orders, Custom Products, Layaways, Lifestyle & Clothing Items, Software, DVDs, CDs, Tapes, Sheet Music, Oversized or Overweight Items, Discontinued Products, Closeouts, Items sold “As-Is”, Speakers, Tubes, Personal items (earphones, headphones, mouthpieces, harmonicas and any product that comes in contact with eyes, ears or mouth), Strings (Guitar, Bass, Violin, Cello, Viola, Banjo, Mandolin, Bajo, Uke, and any other string instrument), Reeds, Drumheads, Drumsticks, and all parts for instrument repairs (Combo, Band, and Orchestra).

Lifestyle & Clothing Items:

In-Store & Online -

Tarpley Music utilizes a third-party platform (Printful) to provide guests with branded clothing and lifestyle products. These items are produced as they are ordered, and are therefore considered "Custom" products. Custom products are not eligible for returns at any Tarpley Music location, and we do not offer refunds for custom products. We don't allow returns or exchanges of clothing ordered in the wrong size or color, and we do not cover buyer’s remorse for custom orders.

Gift Cards:

In-Store & Online - Gift Cards are not redeemable for cash or credit. No refunds. We will not replace lost or stolen gift cards.

Loyalty Points:

In-Store & Online - In the event of a return the Buyer will receive a full refund in their original payment method* less any restocking charges and less the Loyalty Points amount used in the original transaction. The Buyer forfeits the Loyalty Points used in the original transaction.


Items Sold "As-Is":

In-Store & Online - Items cannot be returned unless it arrives in a condition different from how it was described or photographed.


* Cash refunds over $50 will be issued a check from our corporate office within 10 days of the return.

☨ We strive to process all refunds within 1 to 3 business days of the return been received at our location. The time it takes for the refund to post to your account could vary based upon your bank's processing times.


Special Note About Social Platforms:

Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms where you might see us advertise product, cannot and do not dictate our Return Policy. Some platforms display abritary Return Policies that they (the social platform) gives us no control over. We do not honor these Social Platform Return Policies.


Online Terms are listed in addition to Tarpley Music’s General Terms. Online Terms do not apply to purchases made in person at a Tarpley Music store location. We do not cover "Buyer’s Remorse" after the 14 day or 3 day return windows.


Terms & Conditions listed within our Return Policy are subject to change without prior notice from Tarpley Music.
